The Flourist
The Flourist, located on Commercial Drive in Vancouver, needed a clean, sterile environment to ensure a facility to produce and sell quality grains for both the home baker and locally baked goodies on site. Beatty Floors provided a polished concrete flooring. The flooring process was a SIKA commercial coating after grinding down the old concrete, filling cracks and joints, and finally applying a 3 colour coat in 2 shades.
Client
The Flourist provides sifted flours that start out as crushed 100% whole grains sourced out from Canadian farmers. After the slow-moving stones crush the grains, the flour passes through fine screens to remove the larger bran and germ particles leaving beautiful, soft and richly textured flour. A stone-milled sifted flour produced in this way contains more nutritious and delicious whole grain elements than a whole grain flour produced in a commercial milling environment. This is because commercial millers remove the bran and germ completely before milling the grain.
