Luxury vinyl plank or tile flooring is the fastest growing flooring product now being used in traditionally carpeted areas like halls, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms and even living rooms. It is extremely durable, attractive, water resistant and performs well with heavy foot traffic. Cleaning is simply damp mopping and sweeping; staining is not a factor and wear patterns also not a problem. Luxury vinyl flooring is made entirely from a synthetic material called polyvinyl chloride plastic (PVC). PVC is heated and pressed into thin layers to form either sheet vinyl or luxury vinyl tiles and planks. Each piece of vinyl features a photorealistic layer portraying hardwood, stone or a ceramic look. Vinyl tile flooring comes in tile sizes of 9 to 18 square inches; it replicates the look of ceramic tile but is more economical. Luxury Vinyl Planks are often 7” wide by 48” long.
